Features
#

Immersive notes: no second window
#

The lesson and your notes share one window. No separate notes app, no switching windows.

Each section gets two notebooks you write yourself: General notes for concepts and walkthroughs, and a Section Cheat Sheet for the commands and key points you’ll want to look up later.

Two notebooks for the same section: concepts on the left, commands to look up later on the right.
  • Notes follow the section you’re on. Switch sections and the notes switch too.
  • Markdown with edit and preview modes, autosave as you type, and export to your own notes app when you’re done.
  • Prefer not to use the side panel? Edit notes in a new tab instead.

Reading pace: open it and see what to read today
#

Set a start date and how many days you plan to take, and the extension spreads the path’s sections across those days. Finished sections are marked automatically from your Academy completion records, so you don’t have to mark anything yourself. You can also expand the full reading schedule. Sections in modules you haven’t opened yet show as “Section N” until you open the course, then switch to their real titles. Once you apply a plan, it stays fixed and won’t shift on its own.

Plan day 36 of 90: all 3 suggested sections for today are done.

Stamp collection: finish a path, earn a stamp
#

The nine certification paths sit in a 3×3 grid: finish the coursework to earn a Done stamp, pass the exam to add a Passed stamp, and you can tell at a glance what you’ve finished and what you’ve passed.

Finish the course for a Done stamp. Open your certificates page on Academy to add a Passed stamp.

Your data stays in your browser
#

Notes and progress are stored in your browser. There’s no account to create, and nothing is uploaded to any server. The extension only reads the Academy pages you open yourself. It never opens tabs, clicks for you, or sends extra requests.

Install
#

Download and unzip
#

Go to GitHub Releases and, under Assets in the latest release, download the zip for your browser: academy-passport-chrome or academy-passport-firefox. Unzip it into a permanent folder and check that it contains manifest.json. Keep this folder after installing; don’t move or delete it. Chrome and Firefox keep their data separately.

Download the zip for your browser, not the Source code archives.

Chrome
#

01 Turn on Developer mode
#

Enter chrome://extensions in the address bar and switch on Developer mode in the top-right corner.

The switch is in the top-right corner. The button for the next step only appears once it’s on.

02 Load the unzipped folder
#

Click Load unpacked in the top-left and select the unzipped folder that contains manifest.json, not the zip file.

Pick the folder, not the zip file, or loading will fail.

03 Pin it to the toolbar
#

Click the puzzle icon in Chrome’s top-right corner and pin “Path Passport|HTB Academy 非官方學習助手” (the name Chrome shows) so it’s always one click away.

Once pinned, the icon stays to the right of the address bar.

Firefox
#

This package isn’t signed by Mozilla yet, so these steps load it temporarily in Firefox 142 or later. After you quit and reopen Firefox you’ll need to load it again, so export important notes first.

01 Open the debugging page
#

Enter about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox in the address bar.

Paste this address straight into the address bar.

02 Load Temporary Add-on
#

Click Load Temporary Add-on… and select manifest.json inside the unzipped folder.

Firefox asks for the manifest.json file itself, unlike Chrome, which asks for the folder.

After installing
#

Sign in to HTB Academy, refresh any Academy tabs you already have open, then click the extension icon to see your stamp collection.
